The U.S. Federal government is both the largest owner and tenant in the United States, creating a unique set of real estate challenges for the leadership of the General Services Administration (GSA) tasked with managing over 300 million square feet, millions of occupants, and dozens of building types.

On stage at Blueprint’s 2022 conference in Las Vegas, Fifth Wall Managing Partner Brad Greiwe sat down with Nina Albert, the Commissioner of the Public Buildings Service at the GSA. The two discussed how the GSA uses its immense buying power and expertise to invest in new technology through major initiatives backed by the Build Back Better Act and Inflation Reduction Act.

Albert highlights the GSA’s Green Proving Ground, putting over $1 billion to work testing and deploying new technology.
