Automation & The Grid: The Rise of Grid-Interactive, Efficient Buildings

Prescriptive Data’s Cindy Zhu shows how intelligent buildings are evolving to communicate with power grids in real-time. Known as Grid-interactive, Efficient Buildings (GEBs), are proving to be a valuable asset to enhance grid integrity. When a building gets a signal from grid operators that demand is spiking or grid integrity is at risk, building operators can automate functions that briefly lower demand to avoid setting new price peaks and straining the grid further. Zhu talks about how GEBs and grid modernization are reshaping the future of smart buildings and their place within our broader electricity systems.
