Prescriptive Data, In Partnership With Cleartrace, Selected As Market Leader For 2022 REBNY PropTech Challenge
New York—April 20, 2022—Prescriptive Data, developer of smart building operating system Nantum OS, and in partnership with Cleartrace was selected as a top PropTech solution in two separate categories at The Real Estate Board of New York’s (REBNY) annual PropTech Challenge. This year’s PropTech Challenge, ‘Getting to Carbon Net Zero,’ highlighted best-in-class solutions for building decarbonization.
In the “Building and Tenant — Energy Management and Optimization” category, Prescriptive Data’s Nantum OS, and in partnership with Cleartrace, was awarded for its ability to orchestrate and optimize a vast array of HVAC equipment, smart submeters, thermostats, occupancy sensors, and more, aligning the various systems toward energy efficiency by using AI/ML to correlate operations.
Additionally, and in the “Carbon Measurement, Verification, Reporting and Accounting” category, Nantum OS and Cleartrace were awarded for providing building operators and owners with an immutable record of a building’s full energy-use cycle, from procurement to end-use, enabling carbon management, reduction, and trading at scale.
The 2022 PropTech Challenge focused on sustainable operations and the ongoing efforts of New York’s property sector to reduce carbon emissions. New regulations like Local Law 97, which sets a cap on emissions, are paving the way toward city-wide minimum building performance standards. New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has long advocated for better technology in the built environment, working with the private sector to develop innovative solutions that optimize building operations. Together NYSERDA and REBNY are coordinating private and public sector innovation focused on addressing the building sector's role in carbon emission reduction.
The challenge, which culminated in an event on April 19th with presentations by selected companies and panels of industry leaders, was divided into four categories across a wide array of tech aimed at optimizing energy usage and sustainability in the built environment. Nantum OS and Cleartrace were selected for categories ones and two. Category one centered around being able to prove emission reductions through reporting, verification, and validation to support carbon trading. Category two tasked submissions with using less energy to heat and cool buildings, helping owners reduce and manage plug loads, and empowering tenants to make better energy use decisions.
“We are grateful to REBNY for recognizing our work on Nantum OS, which has provided building engineers, property managers, and asset owners with the tools and analysis they need to make buildings more sustainable and operations more profitable,” said Sonu Panda, CEO of Prescriptive Data. “The event was a celebration of progress within the decarbonization space and also a great place to meet partners. No one can do this alone.”
This selection is Prescriptive Data’s fifth recognition in the Annual PropTech Challenge. Nantum OS has received numerous awards and was recently selected by JPMorgan Chase to optimize the bank’s energy use and reduce its carbon footprint across the firm's owned real estate.
Together with other winners and finalists in the 2022 REBNY PropTech Challenge dedicated to sustainable operations, Prescriptive Data is working to forge a path toward decarbonization that merges the building owners, technology, and the public sector. By aligning incentives for all stakeholders, Nantum OS is helping transform the property sector with smarter, more sustainable, and more profitable operations. About Prescriptive Data’s Nantum OS:
Nantum OS is an artificial intelligence and machine learning climate technology designed for commercial real estate operators and sustainability managers. Nantum OS allows real estate managers to visualize building HVAC systems, metering systems, people counting systems, IoT devices (air quality, lighting, shade, smart glass), distributed energy systems (battery storage, fuel cells, on-site generation equipment, solar), and third-party datasets in real time. Nantum OS uses real-time AI/ML algorithms to reduce building energy demand, suppress carbon emissions, and shrink utility costs. Each building on Nantum OS uses the least amount of energy and carbon emissions while delivering the maximum amount of health and comfort to occupied spaces.
